Com un pare (Like a Father) – For decades, the bell tower of La Garriga remained silent. Along with it, an ancient language was also lost: the manual ringing of bells, a way of communicating with the town and marking time, celebration, and mourning. When Lluís Fontserè, the last bell ringer, stopped climbing the tower, it seemed that that sound would only remain in memory. Fifty years later, his daughter climbs back up. This gesture opens an intimate and collective journey toward recovering a sonic heritage. Through her memory, musician Fèlix de Blas, and the research of Víctor Rodríguez—the driving force behind the restoration of the bell tower and a new group of bell ringers—the documentary follows the return of a tradition that once again gives the town its voice. Beyond recovering a trade, the film speaks of memory, transmission, and collective identity.
