The Day of the Apple (El dia de la poma) – On the outskirts of Tehran, the theft of the family truck leaves Saeed, Mahdi, and their parents in economic collapse. With a tone close to Iranian neorealism, this film explores poverty and inequality through a critical and deeply human lens. The movie led to the exile of its director and screenwriter Mahnaz Jarchi, who were welcomed to Barcelona by the No Callarem Artists at Risk project.
Screening in collaboration with the No Callarem Association. The screening will be followed by a discussion on the cultural situation in Iran featuring writer Mahhsa Mohebali and journalist Hossein Zoghi.
